5. FIFA 13
2013 was a major upgrade in graphics and game physics from EAs top series FIFA. This was the first FIFA game I owned, and I played it for two years on the Xbox 360. I didn't feel the need to upgrade to FIFA 14 because on the 360 the only thing upgraded was the rosters. The Next generation of consoles got an upgrade in gameplay and graphics. FIFA 13 was the first time I played Ultimate Team which is an addictive fantasy team of players from around the world of soccer. I finally upgraded to FIFA 15 earlier this year with the XBOX One.
I loved everything about this game from my favorite player Dustin Pedroia on the cover to the soundtrack and commentators Matt Vasgersian and Rex Hudler. My favorite game mode was Road to the Show, I was able to create my own player and work my way up the farm systems of the MLB up to the majors by playing games. The Franchise mode was also great because you were able to run the team in every way. I was able sign TV deals with local stations, and make upgrades to my teams facilities in addition to roster moves.
I played Wii Sports Golf because it was the closest you could get to playing golf without actually stepping out of my house. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 was a step up from this because I was able to make my own pro and play in PGA Tour events around the world. Of all the video games I have played this was the most realistic because of the 1:1 swing motion with the Wii Remote. The newly implemented Wii Motion Plus made your swing even more realistic in 2010 despite the adapter making your remote longer and bulkier.
Slugfest was normal baseball game like MLB The Show, and MLB2K but with a major twist. Baseball becomes a contact sport with punches and fights between players. There are also fictional teams and stadiums included like the Rodeo Clowns and a stadiums in Atlantis and in the middle of China. Having the ability to attack players set this game apart from other MLB games on the PS2. I wish Slugfest could be made for 2015 but with today's licensing issues with the MLB make it impossible to create a quality MLB game other than The Show.
All of the games on this list are worthy of #1 but NCAA had my favorite game mode of all time on it, Road for the Heisman. Later games in the series the name of this mode was changed to Road to Glory but it was very similar. In this gamemode you can create your own high school football player and then participate in a camp where you are recruited by college teams based on your performance. One of my favorite features of this was your player having its own dorm room. Each year of college you would move to a better dorm. The dorm acted as a menu for the mode but on the computer monitor there is a picture of your girlfriend that becomes more "attractive" as you become a better player. This series was discontinued after 2014 because of licencing issues. Recently this series was in the news because of a player likeness lawsuit against EA Sports.
