Indianapolis Colts 2015 Offseason Preview
The Indianapolis Colts had a very solid season this season as they continued to improve for a 3rd consecutive year and reached the AFC Championship Game for the 1st time of the Luck/Pagano/Grigson era. Unfortunately, the Colts again suffered a crushing defeat as they lost 45-7 to the hands of the Patriots. This defeat was marred with controversy as the Patriots were found to have used deflated footballs which contributed to the Colts defeat. This shows that Brady and Belichick will go to any length to win the football game illegal or not.

Fili Moala DE/DT
Andy Studebaker OLB
Shaun Phillips DE/OLB
Matt Hasselbeck QB
Delano Howell S
Matt Overton LS
Jeris Pendleton DT
Dan Herron RB
Josh Cribbs WR
Griff Whalen WR
Reggie, Redding, and Hasselbeck are all considering retirement but if they want to comeback and don't want too much the Colts should resign them.
Freeman and Butler are the only 2 must resign players because they were solid contributors this past season
Adams, Herron, and Bradshaw also had solid seasons and should be brought back as well
Robert Mathis is pretty good friends with Shaun Phillips and Phillips had success with his few games with the team so bringing him back isn't a bad idea
Brown, Anderson, Whalen, Overton and Studebaker were all very good special teamers and should be brought back
Shipley and Reitz were really underrated on the oline this year and should be brought back
Howell, Pendleton and Fili missed the whole season because of injury but if they are healthy they should be brought back
The only people who shouldn't be resigned are Nicks, Cribbs and Gordy who basically weren't good this year. Nicks couldn't get separation, and didn't make a difference on the field. Gordy was horrible in coverage and the Colts could find a better CB. Cribbs looked like he was suffering from Chuck Knoblauch Syndrome with the way he couldn't seem to catch the ball in the playoffs, that's not what you want with your kick returner.
Possible Cuts

Donald Thomas RG
Thomas missed the past 2 seasons with injuries he probably will get cut.
Underperformance
Gosder Cherilus RT
LaRon Landry FS
Trent Richardson RB
Bjoern Werner OLB
Cherilus and Landry both signed big contracts and haven't lived up to expectations
Richardson and Werner are 1st round draft picks who have been pretty big busts. Werner has at least shown flashes of potential but has also disappeared at times. Trent Richardson is in my opinion the worst RB in the NFL any time he touches the ball it's a waste of a down. He has been outperformed by Ahmad Bradshaw, Donald Brown, Dan Herron, and Zurlon Tipton. Zurlon Tipton was a undrafted free agent who was on the practice squad for most of the year, he should not have been in a position to be the backup RB in the AFC Championship Game.
Just To Free Up Some Cash
Erik Walden OLB
Erik Walden had a poor season last season but improved this season, however he may not have done enough to justify the money the Colts were paying him.
Possible Free Agents for the Colts to Sign
QB: Dan Orlovsky, Colt McCoy
Orlovsky is a decent backup but not the guy you want starting on your team, Colt McCoy has shown he can be a starting QB in the NFL so he would be a good backup too
RB: Jordan Todman
I don't love the free agent RB class, there's too much risk involved. I'd feel more comfortable with the Colts drafting an RB in the 4th or 5th round of the draft. Todman is like Herron very good special teamer who can also run the ball a little bit.
WR: Torrey Smith, Michael Crabtree, Duron Carter
The Colts need another decent receiver for Luck to throw to besides TY, and Torrey and Crabtree have shown they have #1 wideout potential. Duron Carter is Cris Carter's son who played really well in the CFL and wants to play with the Colts he would also be a good fit.
G: Mike Iupati
Decent Guard and the Colts need one, because it is known that Andrew Luck plays better when he doesn't have defenders in his face all the time.
DT: Damon Harrison
Very good DT and very good at sacking the QB, which is something the Colts lacked.
CB: Buster Skrine, Robert McClain
2 very underrated corners and the Colts need another shutdown CB besides Vontae.
S: Da'Norris Searcy
Very underrated safety who would be a good fit in the secondary.
